• With the fall TV season in high gear, we asked Taylor Swift if she is still enthralled with the show ‘CSI’, and if there are any other shows she is anxious to watch. "I love ‘CSI’. But I am obsessed with ‘Grey's Anatomy‘," notes Taylor. "It's my life goal to get a guest-spot on that show. My love of ‘Grey's Anatomy’ has never wavered. It’s my longest relationship to date," the singer-songwriter says, smiling. And speaking of the small screen, you’ll recall Taylor took on the role of director for her video of "I’m Only Me When I’m With You"; we asked her if she still enjoys editing and the creative process that comes with that. "I still love making videos. It’s one of my favorite things to do, because it’s so creative. It's a lot like songwriting, in that it’s like a puzzle. And if you get the edits exactly right in movie-making, you can make something magical. It’s just like lyrics and melody structure when you’re writing. If you get it right, it can really be something."

• Taylor Swift has been having a great time on Rascal Flatts‚ BOB THAT HEAD Tour, and fans may remember the guys from Rascal Flatts were the first artists to invite Taylor to open for them, way back in the fall of 2006. Taylor notes, "I'll always love the guys in Rascal Flatts for taking a chance on me when I was 16 and letting me open shows for them. I barely had a single out, and they still gave me that leg-up. I always base a lot of importance on remembering who has helped you out in the past. Those guys really did, so it's an honor to be opening up their shows." Taylor continues, "I love being in front of huge crowds. You have these moments onstage, when the feeling is just right and the crowd is crazy and you just have this overwhelming sense of ‘THIS moment is why I love this’."
• Taylor Swift has become the only solo female act in the 44-year history of the Billboard country chart to score FIVE Top 10 singles from a debut album. "Should’ve Said No," the fifth single from Taylor’s self-titled debut CD, entered the Top 10 on Billboard’s Country Singles chart this week, only eight weeks after its release to radio. Taylor wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on the disc, including her four previous hit singles: "Tim McGraw," "Teardrops On My Guitar," "Our Song," and "Picture To Burn." ‘Taylor Swift’ was recently certified Triple-Platinum (3 million sold) by the RIAA. Taylor first secured her place in the country music history books when at the age of 17, she became the youngest person to single-handedly write and sing a number-one country single entirely on her own ("Our Song" spent 6 consecutive weeks at #1 atop Billboard's Top Country Songs chart), and she is also the first female solo artist in country music history to write or co-write every song on a platinum-selling debut CD.
• Taylor Swift’s limited edition Wal-Mart exclusive release, Beautiful Eyes, is in stores now. The CD/DVD collection contains exclusive content never-before-released, but Taylor wanted to make sure her fans weren’t confusing this release with her sophomore album, set for release later this year. In a recent MySpace blog, Taylor notes: "I wanted to let you know about this limited edition release that's coming out at Wal Mart called ‘Beautiful Eyes’. This is NOT my new album that I've been working on all year. It's a two disc set, one CD and one DVD. The CD has two previously unreleased songs, "Beautiful Eyes" and "I Heart ?" ( I wrote those songs when I was 13) as well as alternate versions of "Should've Said No", and an acoustic version of "Teardrops On My Guitar". The DVD has of all of my videos, the ACM Performance of "Should've Said No" (in the rain!) and a video created for "Beautiful Eyes" with footage from my 18th Birthday Party. I'm only letting my record company make a small amount of these - the last thing I want any of you to think is that we are putting out too many releases. I'm not going to be doing a bunch of promotion for it, because I don't want there to be confusion about whether it's the second album or not. I've gotten so many emails from people asking for new songs, and I thought this might tie them over till the new album comes out in the fall."
• Before an invitation only audience in Nashville in October, Taylor Swift will join her all-time favorite rock band on stage for a night that is sure to be a memorable one for the young star. "Every time I’ve seen Crossroads on CMT I’ve always thought, 'If I ever get to do one of those, it HAS to be with Def Leppard!,' so this is really a dream come true for me," says Swift. "I have been screaming the words to Def Leppard songs for years…so it's amazing that I'm going to get to share a stage with them this year!" "How cool is this?! Country's hottest young star wanting to work with us!!" says Def Leppard’s Joe Elliot. Def Leppard and Taylor Swift join an elite group of performers who have taped CMT CROSSROADS, which pairs country music stars with popular artists from other genres—pop, rock, R&B—to play together, swap stories, and share their common love of music.
• The Nashville Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is honored by the donation of $10,500 from country music star Taylor Swift. Taylor donated the proceeds from her merchandise sales on Saturday, June 7, 2008, of CMA Music Fest week to the Nashville Area Red Cross. The donation will be used to benefit both the Local Disaster Relief Fund in middle Tennessee as well as the National American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The generous donation will provide clothing, food and bedding for local families who lose their homes due to residential fires. The funds will also be used nationally to provide immediate emergency assistance to victims of disaster. "Taylor’s generous donation will be used to help her neighbors in middle Tennessee and also across the country when the next disaster strikes," says Colleen Zakrewsky, CEO, Nashville Area Red Cross. "Taylor is a role model for young adults everywhere who want to help prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies and we are honored she chose the American Red Cross as the recipient of these funds."
